( RSV )
Gal 6:1-10
[1] Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are
spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Look to
yourself, lest you too be tempted.
[2] Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of
Christ.
[3] For if any one thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he
deceives himself.
[4] But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to
boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor.
[5] For each man will have to bear his own load.
[6] Let him who is taught the word share all good things with him
who teaches.
[7] Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap.
[8] For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap
corruption; but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap
eternal life.
[9] And let us not grow weary in well-doing , f or in due season we
shall reap, if we do not lose heart.
[10] So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men,
and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Acts 16:20-33
[20] and when they had brought them to the magistrates they said,
"These men are Jews and they are disturbing our city.
[21] They advocate customs which it is not lawful for us Romans to
accept or practice."
[22] The crowd joined in attacking them; and the magistrates tore
the garments off them and gave orders to beat them with rods.
[23] And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw
them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely.
[24] Having received this charge, he put them into the inner prison
and fastened their feet in the stocks.
[25] But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing
hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them,
[26] and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the
foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the
doors were opened and every one's fetters were unfastened.
[27] When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open,
he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the
prisoners had escaped.
[28] But Paul cried with a loud voice, "Do not harm yourself, for
we are all here."
[29] And he called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with
fear he fell down before Paul and Silas,
[30] and brought them out and said, "Men, what must I do to be
saved?"
[31] And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be
saved, you and your household."
[32] And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all that
were in his house.
[33] And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their
wounds, and he was baptized at once, with all his family.

Psalm 68:5-6
5 "...A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in
his holy dwelling.
6 God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners
with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched
land..."

Gn 2:18-24
18 "...Then the LORD God said, 'It is not good that the man should
be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.'
19 So out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the
field and every bird of the air, and brought them to the man to see
what he would call them; and whatever the man called every living
creature, that was its name.
20 The man gave names to all cattle, and to the birds of the air,
and to every beast of the field; but for the man there was not
found a helper fit for him.
21 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and
while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with
flesh;
22 and the rib which the LORD God had taken from the man he made
into a woman and brought her to the man.
23 Then the man said, 'This at last is bone of my bones and flesh
of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out
of Man.'
24 Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to
his wife, and they become one flesh..."
